O Little Town of Bethlehem

Every Christmas we celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus over 2000 years ago. It’s a story we know very well; the baby born in a stable in a city called Bethlehem, and the shepherds and the wise men following a star to that very place to greet the new King. But where is Bethlehem and why was it chosen to be such a special place? This film shows how Bethlehem is still a very real city where people live, work and visit in a faraway country called Palestine in the Middle East.

Dear Santa

Every year children all over the world write special letters to Santa Claus and every Christmas they tear open their presents, hoping that their wishes have been answered. But why do we give presents? This film tells the story of the very first presents, given to Jesus himself by the Three Wise Men, and the amazing story of St Nicholas (Father Christmas, Santa Claus) himself and all the extraordinary legends associated with him from around the world.

The Christmas Tree

Every Christmas families all over the world like to buy a tree and decorate it with special decorations and lights. But why do we do this, as there was no Christmas tree when Jesus was born?  In this film we will follow the extraordinary story of the Christmas Tree from its origins in Northern Europe, to the days of Martin Luther and his family, to the majestic National Tree outside the White House.  We learn how it has become the universal symbol of Christmas, how a humble plant changed history and spawned a vast global business, and how it can help the environment too. Norway spruce, Scotch fir, Afghan pine; there are hundreds of varieties, but only one Christmas Tree!

The First Christmas - BONUS FEATURE FILM

Featuring beautiful cinematography from Big Book Media, this film tells the real story of the first Christmas 2000 years ago based on the Gospels of Luke and Matthew.  We discover how Mary was told in a dream by the Angel Gabriel she would give birth to the Messiah, God’s chosen leader.  Your school will see how she and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem, the City of David, how she gave birth to the baby Jesus in a lowly stable, and how the Three Wise Men and all the people came to worship him.

To make your assembly planning as easy as possible over the Christmas period, we provide you with accompanying worksheets and activity ideas, helping to bring the nativity story to life.
